Forces: Chaos vs Imperial
Points: Up to 15,000 per side (Max of 1 Super Heavy per 5000 points) Terrain: 8'x4' Table (There will be 7'x4' will be dense city fight terrain [Omega Level] with an open 12" square [kill zone] at the table's absolute center) and an empty 1' on the Imperial side. Table Edges will be the short edges, keeping the long edges as impassable terrain. This will be a tight, close-quarters game. "No Mans Land" will be long edge to long edge through the 12" square; representing the Imperial's occupying presence and preparation for the assault. I will submit a diagram of the board in the next day or two. Objective: The Imperial forces, having secured Haroth's Gap, launch a cleansing assault upon the city proper. Determined to end the conflict and execute the heretical High Ecclesiarch the Imperial forces move under cover of night to capture the western end of the city, aided by the few remaining loyalist PDF forces. With the dawn the cleansing begins. Special Rules: Both sides will have a simultaneous 20 min to setup, anything not place at the end of that time automatically goes into Strategic Reserves. A dice roll will determine who goes first after deployment is finished, "Seize the Initiative" will not be in effect. Night Fight rules will apply for the first turn. City-Fight Strategems: Both the Imperial and Chaos forces have the Command Centre Strategem. The building nominated becomes the primary objective of the opposing force. Chaos have both the Sacred Ground and Booby Traps Strategems as they have had time to desecrate portions of the city as well as prepare for the invading forces. The Imperials have the Siege Shell and Wrecker Strategems; no mercy or respite for the heretics! Apocalypse Strategic Assets: Chaos is provided with the Tunnels Asset since they know the territory, as well as the Supreme Headquarters Asset which must be used on their Command Centre. The Imperials are granted the Scheduled Bombardment Assets. The following Assets are denied, regardless of source: Vortex Grenade, Flank March, Vital Objective, Orbital Bombardment/Scheduled Bombardment (Chaos Only, they may choose Indescriminate Bombardment instead) ************** Now we need to schedule a date and time as well as do a player sign up. If we have enough interest I'll remain on the side as judge, or join on the Imperial side if needed. I'm allowing multiple data-sheets for players this time, but any assets gained from those sheets may only be used by that player; also Super-Heavies are fine if people want to bring them, but being that it will be such close quarters they will not be able to draw LOS to most things they may not be tremendously effective. |

sounds cool.
I'd put a player limit on it. 3 to a side is plenty, 4 may be too much. Schedule-wise I'm not available on a weekend until 25 July which is the 40K RTT (not a good day for an APOC battle) so look at the first or second weekend of August if possible. If that fits the schedule, I'm in. -------------------- "When I'M in charge, EVERY mission's a suicide mission."

So could we get Sunday August 16th scheduled at Sci Fi City to play?
I agree, I shall cap the players at 3 per side. This game is being stacked somewhat in the favor of the heretics since they do have home-field advantage at the moment. |

As I can only speak for myself scedule-wise, if it's a Sunday, I have to be out by 5. A Satruday would be better - for me - It's your game, so you have to set it up for a time that will work for you first and foremost. If it works for me too, I'll be there.

It can be done, but it DOES increase the complexity level of the game, in no small part because both expansions were written in 4th ed., so some modifications need to be made for 5th. That said, to use both systems, you need a group of people experienced and comfortable with both systems. We haven't played any Cityfight games in a while, so it would behoove us to get some games in in advace of the Apoc version. We also need to do an overview of three rules systems and make some up front calls on how they'll interact. This is one of those cases where having one person designated as a ref is almost mandatory. It will keep things moving along smoothly, and he/she (we can hope, yes?) can make those on-the-spot calls about things without souring it with arguements or thougths that it was called that way to benefit one army over the other. -------------------- "When I'M in charge, EVERY mission's a suicide mission."

About 90% of the rules of COD is in the 5th edition rule book. The only things that you would need to add is Strategems.
Capt K -------------------- "The Obliterator turns his arm into that gun from ‘Runaway’ and fires two guardsman-seeking bullets at the snipers in the tower while the other Obliterator turns his arm into an MP3 player loaded with Journey’s greatest hits. Although they both display equal amounts of awesome this turn only one of them scores any wounds." - Glaive Company CO
"The vet sarge says “OK, screw this!” and turns on his Powerfist again, but the guardsmen get a sudden surge of ape like strength and they bring the marine down in a hail of fists, feet, and feces." - Glaive Company CO "The Lascannon squad nearby fail to harm the russ again, but upon closer inspection the sergeant realizes that the loader had taken 4 of the D sized batteries out to power his Casio keyboard. His outrage is quickly subdued though as the loader impresses him by playing the first 3 bars of “Axle F” perfectly." - Glaive Company CO "This heralds the cloning of several more Eldrad Ulthrans/Dadler Thrulnas/Radled Narulths/Natty Bumpos. I'm just glad I have him painted in four craftworld colors so I can pretend I give a crap about fluff!" Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz. |
