I have decided after the "new blood for AO" thread to start this going, and to announce the arbitrary changes I am making to Adeptus Orlandicus and how it will serve the community at large.

Adeptus Orlandicus is no longer an official gaming club. It is now this forum, which will serve as a communication tool for our local Central Florida area which includes but is not limited to the following stores:

Sci-Fi City
Rhubarb Games
Collisium of Comics
Paladin Tech and Games

The Council has been chosen by myself and is reflective of those who serve a leadership position in AO currently, or was a founder. Anybody on this list can refuse to be a member of this council. (I expect Laz may not be interested). It will consist of the following people:

Myself
Vince
Lazarus

Further more we need representatives of each store to serve on the core council as well. They will represent their store's community and can even be store management. The council as it stands now is primarily Sci-Fi players so I am closing the door on any Sci-Fi Nominations.

To Nominate an individual, simple post in this thread who you feels best represents your store and your particular gaming group. You can nominate whoever you like. The goal is to keep the council "even" among the various communities, so we can truely say we are representative of the community as a whole. Any nominations from two people will be in the running to become a council member.

There are not a lot of responsibilities for being a council member. Each council member will be a moderator on the various "event planning boards" and it is there responsibility to post events that are taking place at their location. Furthermore, they will be able to vote and have final say on any initiative the AO community wants to take as a whole, whether that is adopting an FAQ, running a big event for the area, etc.

We are not going to put ourselves in a position where we are dictating to the community what needs to be done, but rather this will be an "opt-in" type of community. People should come here with the desire to further promote Warhammer 40k in the area and should find it as a place to communicate with the community as a whole.

How often AO starts initiatives and how much AO involves itself in the community I will leave to the council and the people who are willing to regularly post here.

Here are my initial nominations for representatives from the various areas:

Hod
Dan
Zorrax
Skip

Please keep this thread civil.

Scratch me off the list please. I have no interest/ desire to be a counsel member.

"The Lascannon squad nearby fail to harm the russ again, but upon closer inspection the sergeant realizes that the loader had taken 4 of the D sized batteries out to power his Casio keyboard. His outrage is quickly subdued though as the loader impresses him by playing the first 3 bars of “Axle F” perfectly." - Glaive Company CO

Greetings,

I have been asked to represent CoC with Unforgiven (Ted Soper, Games Manager) as backup. I think expanding your council to include other gaming communities is a great idea and will benifit all gamers in Central Florida.

Always at your service,

@ Enigmai: Really cool, I will go ahead and add you guys to the council. Is Unforgiven his AO forum name?

@ zorrax: I don't think it is right to take a person that was partial banned at one point (for extremely valid reasons) and turn around and make him a leader on this forum. I may be wrong on this, but I doubt you will get a second on that nomination...

One of the things I like here is that you guys don't banninate people... You are open minded when it comes to other people's opinions and I like that.

You might want to consider approaching stores in the Tampa area to help form your council. I think it would help to add some diversity. smile.gif

I nominate yergerjo as Paladin's rep. He has organized our first two 40K Leagues and first RTT, and has been a great help.
